Video’s and Images: 2-11 Alarm Fire at The John Hancock Tower in Chicago

Update: The fire on the 50th floor of the John Hancock building in Chicago was accidental according to CFD Spokesperson Larry Langford.  The fire originated in a bedroom on that floor.  All occupants of the 50th floor have been displaced.  There were 5 injuries reported including one police officer who suffered from smoke inhalation.  None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.  We are working on getting the audio up.

A fire was reported at the John Hancock Building in Downtown Chicago shortly after 2:30 this afternoon.  Companies arrived to fire blowing out of the 50th floor windows.  The fire is currently a 2-11 Alarm Fire.  The John Hancock Building is 100 Stories Tall.  Companies currently have the bulk of the fire knocked but extensive overhaul is required.  We did hear reports of a CPD Officer injured at the fire.  We will bring you more as soon as we get it.
