Firefighters in Vancouver are lucky to be alive when a concrete parapet wall collapses while fighting this three story taxpayer fire. The Concrete parapet looks like it was about thirty five feet long and  weighed at least five thousand to ten thousand pounds. Anybody standing underneath this or on the ladders would have been killed immediately. Nice job by the incident commanders for having their “situational awareness” hats on at this fire and being disciplined enough to establish collapse zones. Falling debris and not having proper collapse zones have lead to the early death of many firefighters in history.
