Line of Duty Death: Appleton, WI Firefighter Shot After Responding to EMS Call Has Passed Away

An Appleton, WI Firefighter has been killed in the Line of Duty after he was shot at an EMS Call.  This is a horrific situation and our thoughts and prayers are with the Firefighters family and our Firefighting family.  We will update this when they identify the Firefighter and funeral arrangements come out.  More on the situation below.

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – “A procession will be held Thursday morning as a fallen firefighter is transported back to Appleton.

The procession will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Milwaukee Medical Examiner’s Office. The procession will continue to Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel in Appleton. The procession is expected to arrive in Appleton at about 12:30 p.m.

A news conference will be held at the Appleton Police Department at 2 p.m.

The Appleton Fire Department says the firefighter was killed Wednesday during a shooting at Valley Transit Center. The firefighter’s name has not been released, but the statement says the firefighter had been with the department for 14 years.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

A procession was held overnight in Milwaukee as the firefighter’s body was brought to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
