It is with heavy hearts we bring you the sad news out of Iowa today. This morning while operating at a grain bin fire some type of explosion occurred injuring two firefighters, one of which has passed away. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with the Firefighters Family, and the Fire Department Family. As we get more information we will update this page.
CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) – “UPDATE 7:11 P.M.: During a press conference in Clinton, Iowa, Fire Chief Mike Brown identified the fallen firefighter as Lt. Eric Hosette. Chief Brown says Hosette was 33 years old, with a wife and young daughter. Hosette was taken to Mercy Medical where medical crews worked to revive him but they were unsuccessful.
Chief Brown also spoke about the injured firefighter, identifying him as FF Adam Cain. Chief Brown says Cain was first missing after the explosion. Once found, he was flown to Iowa City where he is now in critical, but stable condition.
At this time, Chief Brown says the Clinton firefighters are at home with their families as firefighters from outside agencies have offered to cover their shifts.

CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) – “The Clinton Fire Department is mourning after the death of a firefighter Saturday morning.
According to a post by the Rock Island Fire Department, a firefighter was killed while battling a fire this morning. ADM Grains confirmed to TV6 the incident occurred at its Clinton facility.
According to ADM, a fire was discovered in the silo storage bins at the loading facility. As firefighters were battling the fire, the company says, an explosion occurred. Two firefighters were hurt, one of the fatality.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these brave firefighters,” the company said in a statement to TV6. “They put their lives in danger every day, and it’s hard to express how much we appreciate their selfless help in a time of need. We greatly appreciate the quick response, bravery and dedication of all of the emergency responders today. We are deeply saddened at the turn of events.”…Continue Reading Here
