News: Still and Box Alarm Apartment Fire, Mayday Alert, and EMS Plan 1 in Chicago Leaves Firefighters Injured

We don’t have much information at this time other than all firefighters are accounted for following a Still and Box Alarm Fire with a Mayday, and Plan 1.  Below is more on the story courtesy of WGN News.  We will update this as soon as we get more information.  Prayers to the injured Brothers.

CHICAGO — “At least two firefighters were injured in a fire that required a Mayday alarm Sunday on the Northwest Side, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Chicago Fire Department sent out a Mayday alarm during a fire on the 4900 block of W. Potomac Ave. in the city’s North Austin neighborhood.

The blaze has been extinguished as of about 12:30 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department.

An EMS Plan I which automatically sends at least six ambulances to the scene was initiated.

The fire department tweeted that “all companies accounted for.”
