“I was able to make it to the Wauwatosa structure fire on 8-4-2015 at the Sherwin-Williams paint store and take some drone video. Wauwatosa firefighters and shared service companies were still overhauling and chasing a difficult fire in the roof. Below is a small description of the scene.Â
Wauwatosa firefighters responded to the Sherwin-Williams store around 06:30am for a reported structure. First arriving Chief (Battalion 5) reported a working fire at this location and took “North ave. Command”. Battalion 5 had an excellent first in report of the incident and advised companies to position on the bravo side of the building. Â Two lines were pulled off engine 51. First arriving companies found heavy fire in the rear of the building and made an aggressive interior attack on the fire. Excellent job by all for making a good stop on this fire. Additional truck companies were sent to the roof to open up, while up there they found heavy fire. After gaining access they continued to overhaul and chase hot spots in the attic.Â
First due companies were Engine 51, Truck 51, Med 51, Battalion 5, Truck 53, Engine 53, Med 53, Engine 52, Med 52, Milwaukee Truck, Milwaukee Chief, West Allis Chief, North Shore Chief, and Truck. Â Change of quarters companies were requested by Chief 52 early on in the incident.
