Chicago Firefighters battled an early morning 2-11 Alarm Fire in the Pilsen neighborhood. Here is more on the fire.
WGN – A Chicago firefighter was injured and 21 people were displaced in an extra-alarm blaze early Sunday at a three-story apartment building in Pilsen.
The fire began in building in the 1900 block of South Wolcott and spread to a second building.
Chicago Fire Department Assistant Deputy Fire Commissioner Mark Nielsen says when firefighters arrived on the scene, there were residents in the windows, trying to escape the flames.
He said one resident was rescued by a civilian who used a forklift from a nearby business.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to Rush University Medical Center.
Nielsen says the fire was on all three floors of the building and the stairwell was fully engulfed.”…Continue Reading Here
