Independently dispatches and coordinates the response of emergency ambulance units to the scene of accidents or distress and coordinates emergency medical service activities involving the city ambulance program on an assigned shift at the central unit; and performs other related duties as required.
The current position vacancy is responsible for dispatching ambulances on Oahu to respond to 911 emergency calls for pre-hospital emergency medical care and emergency ambulance service,Â coordinating personnel scheduling, and assuring that the necessary Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel are assigned to all units.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Equivalent to graduation from high school.
Two (2) years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, and satisfactory completion of a State of Hawaii Department of Health approved Emergency Medical Technician (Basic Life Support) training program.
Verification Requirement:Â You must submit proof of completion of Emergency Medical Technician training and evidence of any current and/or past Emergency Medical Technician certification(s). The above licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout employment. Maintenance of these licenses/certifications is a condition of employment.
