The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the City of Hillsboro is currently accepting applications for maintaining an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter Engineer/Dispatcher. The eligibility list will remain in effect for two years or until such time that the list has been exhausted.
Applications will be accepted at City Hall, 447 S. Main Street, P.O. Box 556, Hillsboro, IL 62049. The deadline for submitting applications to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners in care of City Hall is 4:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2018. A non-refundable testing fee of $25.00 must be paid prior to testing.
Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have no felony record, possess a valid Illinois driver’s license, and have a high school diploma or the equivalent. With certain limited exceptions, applicants must not have reached their thirty-fifth birthday as of the deadline for filing applications. Applicants must be able to meet department’s minimum physical and general aptitude standards for the position of firefighter.
