Following a comprehensive analysis of the Fire Department organization, the Township has authorized the hiring of their first full-time Fire Chief. This exciting time for the organization is a prime opportunity for an experienced leader to join the Townshipâ€™s executive management team.
FIRE CHIEF POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The Lincoln Charter Township is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, progressive, experienced leader to lead the Fire Department.
The ideal candidate should have experience in leading paid-on-call firefighters. Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of fire suppression, rescue, and fire prevention principles. Considerable knowledge of administrative fire department requirements including budget preparation, grant writing, retention and recruitment of paid on call firefighters, and plan review experiences, are highly desirable. The candidate should posses skills to be a good communicator, be effective in collaboration with other Township Departments, being visible in the community as the Department Head, and be an approachable, confident leader. An advanced degree in fire science management is desired and the candidate should be certified, or demonstrate the equivalency, as Fire Officer II, ICS 400, Fire Prevention/Inspector/Plan Reviewer, and a Fire Investigator. Attainment of equivalent Michigan Certification programs will be required within a reasonable period of time after appointment.
