Full-time EMT/Paramedic/Firefighter Salary:  $45,470 
Part-time Hourly Wage: $16.75-$19.50

Job Description:

Essential Functions/Typical Tasks

The County of Prince George, Virginia is currently seeking certified applicants for Full-Time EMT/Intermediate/Firefighter, Full-Time EMT/Paramedic/Firefighter as well as for the purpose of creating an on-call pool to be utilized to fill in during times of staff shortages. The on-call position will cover various shifts as needed.  When full-time positions are recruited, first priority will be given to part time personnel. 
Full-time EMT/Intermediate/Firefighter Salary:  $42,298
Full-time EMT/Paramedic/Firefighter Salary:  $45,470 
Part-time Hourly Wage: $16.75-$19.50

These positions will be responsible for responding to emergency calls; providing basic and advanced life support emergency medical services; assisting in the suppression of fires; preparing and maintaining detailed records.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess education equivalent to graduation from high school. Must possess the following certifications to be considered: (Virginia or National Registry EMT-Basic, Enhanced, Intermediate or Paramedic, EVOC, State Certified Firefighter I, Firefighter II, CPR, NIMS, ICS, and Haz-Mat Operations). Must have a favorable driving history, credit record and criminal history with no convictions of felonies or serious misdemeanors.

Special Requirements

Pre-employment physical/drug testing and comprehensive criminal and financial background check, to include fingerprinting, required. Applicants will be required to submit a current DMV record at the applicant’s expense.  Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must meet and maintain all departmental requirements for the position.

All full-time employees will be required to complete EMT-A or higher within two years of employment.
