Job Description:

Minimum Requirements:

  • $110 non-refundable application fee
  • U.S. citizenship or legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license

*Important Note: these are the minimum threshold requirements for the CO FIREfighter Testing Consortium. Individual departments may hold more stringent requirements. In order to be considered for each agency you must comply with their minimum standards. For example, some agencies require EMT-B and HazMat certifications, however, the timing of the requirement may differ. Please see the department(s) job description for specific information on individual department requirements.

Testing Information:

Eligible candidates must attend one (1) of the mandatory written examinations outlined below.

Colorado testing sessions:

  1. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Arvada Fire Protection District Training Facility, 6651 Indiana St., Arvada, CO – 2 sessions will be available (8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.)
  2. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at North Metro Fire Rescue Training Facility, 1006 Weld County Rd. 11, Northglenn, CO –  2 sessions will be available (8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.)

Illinois testing sessions:

  1. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at IOS, 1520 Kensington Rd., Ste. 110, Oakbrook, IL – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  2. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at IOS, 1520 Kensington Rd., Ste. 110, Oakbrook, IL – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

*Important Notes:

  • Testing sessions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. To increase the likelihood of selecting your desired timeslot, be sure to correctly submit all the required documentation by the application deadline.  You will be notified via email on how to register for a testing session at a later time. Dates and times are subject to change.
  • If you tested in the spring 2018 consortium you do not need to reapply unless you would like to retest in attempt to improve your score. Testing scores are valid for a one-year period.
  • If you would like to retain the score that you achieved in the spring 2018 process, no further action is required. Your score will automatically be combined with the fall 2018 testing cycle.
