Job Description:
Minimum Requirements:
- $35.00 non-refundable application fee
- U.S. Citizenship
- High School Diploma or GED
- No Felony Convictions
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum age 21 by date of application (candidates between the ages of 18 and 21 must have at least 2 years of completed study in Fire Science in order to be eligible to test)
- Maximum age 35 at time of application. Exemptions in ILCS 5/10-2.1-6
- Firefighter II/Basic Operations Firefighter Certification from the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal
- EMT-Paramedic License issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)
- Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb Certification issued by a licensed testing agency within one year prior to written exam (valid if issued from 10/1/2015-10/1/2016)
- Residency within 30-mile radius of fire station (147 S. Michigan Avenue, Bradley, IL 60915) within 6 months of hire
Application Instructions:
- Complete the online application for the position of Firefighter. When you have completed the online application, you will receive a confirmation number. Save this number for your records.Â
- Attend the orientation and written exam on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School, 700 W. North Street, Bradley IL. Orientation begins at 1:00 PM and testing will immediately follow. Arrive by 12:30 PM with a valid Driver’s License or State ID to sign-in.
You must bring the following with you to the Written Exam on October 1, 2016:
- Copy of High School Diploma or GED
- Copy of Valid Driver’s License
- Copy of Birth Record
- Copy of FF II/BOF Firefighter Certification from the OSFM
- Copy of IDPH EMT-P License
- Copy of Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb Certification
- Copy of Official College Transcripts (this only applies to candidates between 18 and 21 years of age)
