Salary: $41,204.80 Per Year
Participate in public safety, fire suppression, fire prevention, and emergency medical services.Â Work toward the successful completion of all departmental requirements and testing necessary to achieve the rank of Firefighter 2nd Class.Â This position serves as a probationary assignment.Â Â
1Â Provide firefighting services and emergency medical assistance to ill and injured persons.
2Â Assist in the maintenance and repair of Fire Department facilities, firefighting and rescue vehicles, medical vehicles and equipment.
3Â Perform fire safety surveys of businesses to identify immediate and potential hazards and assist business owners and managers to eliminate those hazards.
4Â Participate in and assist with fire training classes, drills, and public education programs.
5Â Perform related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.Â Knowledge of modern fire prevention principles, firefighting practices and rescue techniques.Â Current TX Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Structural Certification AND current TX Department of Health.Â Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification – basic or higher; OR current.Â Emergency Medical Technician â€“ Paramedic (EMT-P) Certification.Â Following employment, obtain and maintain Paramedic certification, or any other missing certifications, as directed by the department.
