Job Description:

The City of East Moline Fire & Police Commission will conduct examinations to create Firefighter Eligibility List. CPAT Orientation is July 15, 8:00 am, final testing is September 9. Starting salary $46,328.53. Duties include fire suppression, advanced EMS, provide emergency response and rescue, and operate rescue equipment. Requirements are U.S. Citizenship; high school graduate or equivalent, valid driver’s license; vision correctable to 20/40 with no monochromatic color blindness; current and valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) including ladder climb card. Qualifications

The equivalent of a High School Diploma; possession of Firefighter II certification within 1 year; possession of Paramedic certification within 2 years; possession of Minimum Qualifications: ACLS, EMT and CPR certification; possession of an Illinois Class B or Iowa Class D license is also required; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Work involves potentially extreme work setting. Works an average 52-hour week, 24-hour shift. There is frequent need to stand, walk, sit, climb, talk or hear, lift up Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Work involves potentially extreme work setting. There is frequent need to stand, walk, sit, climb, talk or hear, lift up to and over 200 pounds, use hands to finger, handle or feel and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. There is also the risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens, chemicals, mechanical parts and other hazards.
