When not providing emergency services, firefighters perform other routine, administrative, and laborious tasks such as training and education, equipment/apparatus repair and maintenance, fire code inspections, pre-fire planning, and other special projects.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to work as Firefighters for the City of Moorhead. We provide a wide range of services with a conservatively staffed full-time department. This enables our employees to cross-train in several fire service disciplines and allows Firefighters to take leadership roles in areas that are of personal interest to them.
The ideal candidate will highly value education and credentialing (IFSAC Certifications) as well as have direct fire service experience. We provide many opportunities for education and training outside of the department as well as an active in-house training program.
Successful applicants must possess a minimum of an Associate Degree in Fire Technology or equivalent experience and/or education, IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter II Certification, current National Registry EMT Certification, a valid personal driverâ€™s license, and completion of NIMS IS-700, 800, 100, and 200 courses.

The hiring process includes a written test, oral interview, physical agility test, background check, psychological examination, fitness and medical examination.
Following application review, qualified candidates will be notified if they are eligible to take the written test which is scheduled for Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College (M|State) in Moorhead, Minnesota.
