This recruitment session for Fire ghter/EMT and Fire ghter/Paramedic is open from November 3, 2015 through December 18, 2015. For those who have not yet graduated from Fire ghter or EMT/Paramedic school, applica ons will be accepted; however, tests for the Florida Minimum Standards or the Florida EMT or Paramedic cer ca on must be successfully passed by the dates stated under Requirements for Employment.
National Testing Network Application & Testing (FireTEAM & CPAT)
North Collier Fire u lizes Na onal Tes ng Network (NTN) for the collec on of applica ons and the FireTEAM and CPAT tes ng of ALL applicants. Visit the NTN website (www.naonaltesingnetwork.com) to: 1) complete the applica on; 2) arrange for FireTEAM and CPAT tes ng; and 3) direct NTN to forward your test scores to North Collier Fire. If you are currently in Fire ghter or EMT/Paramedic school, you must note this on the NTN applica on under the â€™Other Skillsâ€™ sec on along with your an cipated test date which must comply with dates stated under Requirements for Employment. Selected applicants will receive an email with instruc ons for scheduling an oral interview before a panel of North Collier Fire personnel. The email will also instruct applicants on how to submit the following required informa on prior to the interview: 1) resume; 2) State of Florida Minimum Standards Cer cate (or veri ca on of school enlistment with nal test date prior to January 1, 2016); and 3) Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic Cer ca on (or veri ca on of school enlistment with nal test date prior to March 1, 2016). Applicants do not need to bring copies of resume to the interview.
Notification of Selection
During the interview process, candidates will be instructed on the procedure for no ca on of selec on. The hiring of selected candidates is dependent upon a successful pre-employment physical and criminal background check. Candidates not ini ally selected remain on an eligible list for one year should more hirings occur.
Pre-Employment Physical & Criminal Background Check
A er no ca on of selec on, candidates are scheduled for a pre-employment physical, which includes a stress test and drug screen. Candidates must also submit to a criminal background check.
Candidates who successfully complete the hiring process, including the pre-employment physical and criminal background check will be no ed of Orienta on (an eight week, 40-hour workweek schedule).
