Firefighter/EMT or Paramedic

Salary: Firefighter/EMT – $34,648 annually

Firefighter/Paramedic – $42,272 annually

Job Description:

Firefighter EMT – Regular full-time – $34,648 annually

Professional firefighting/emergency medical technician duties of a varied nature under the direction of a superior officer.

Requirements:

  • Possess Florida Certification as a Firefighter as authorized by F.S.S. 633
  • Possess Florida Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician
  • Possess a High School Diploma or acceptable equivalency,
  • Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License (Class E or higher). Employee must maintain a Class E License without any restrictions on performance throughout employment.

CLOSING DATE:  November 20, 2015

Firefighter Medic – Regular full-time – $42,272 annually

Skilled technical work in the County Public Safety Department in the field of fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical services.

Requirements:

  • Meet requirements of Florida Administrative Rules 10D66 and 4A
  • Possess State of Florida Paramedic Certification, State of Florida Firefighter Certification as authorized by F.S.S. 633 and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and CPR instruction certifications
  • Possess a High School Diploma or acceptable equivalency,
  • Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License (Class E or higher). Employee must maintain a Class E License without any restrictions on performance throughout employment

CLOSING DATE:  November 20, 2015

Okeechobee County Fire Rescue participates in the National Firefighter Selection Inventory and Treasure Coast Physical Agility (TC-PAT) pre-employment examination process.  All pre-employment testing is done through this process.  Details of this process can be found at: http://www.tcpublicsafetytraining.com/p/105.

In order to be considered for employment, you must show documentation of completion within the prior 12 calendar months from Indian River State College’s National Firefighter Selection Inventory Examination and Treasure Coast Physical Agility Test (TC-PAT).

Copies of all required certifications must be submitted with application.
