Salary: $47,701.09 – $70,878.53 Annually
General fire fighting and rescue work combating, extinguishing and preventing fires, and conducting advanced and basic emergency medical services. Fire Medics perform firefighting and emergency response activities of a difficult and responsible nature under the general supervision of a Fire Lieutenant or higher level supervisor. Work involves providing rescue services and prompt paramedical services with latitude for independent judgment and initiative within departmental, City, County and State guidelines.
High School graduation, High School Equivalency Diploma, or G.E.D. Certificate. Must have a valid State of Florida certification as a Firefighter. Must possess a valid State of Florida certification as a Paramedic. Candidates must have a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
ELIGIBILITY PROCEDURE: Candidates must complete an application and submit a copy of their State of Florida Certificate of Completion, Paramedic Certification Card to the Human Resources Department. In addition, candidates must register with the National Testing Network (NTN) and complete a written examination and physical agility test (CPAT) by the close date of 12/6/2017; results of those assessments must be received by the city by the close date of 12/6/2017.
