The El Dorado Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Entry-Level Firefighter.  The starting salary is approximately $29,000 – $35,000 per year- DOQ, DOE.  The El Dorado Fire Department provides Fire Prevention, Fire Suppression, Rescue, Haz-Mat, and Advanced Life Support EMS transports within the City limits of El Dorado, Arkansas

All candidates must participate in the Civil Service Testing procedures to be eligible for hire.  This includes a written test, a physical agility test, an oral interview, and a comprehensive criminal background check.  All candidates must pass with at least 70% to be considered for hire.
If hired, all candidates will be required to obtain Firefighter I and Firefighter II certificates as prescribe by the Arkansas Fire Training Academy, as well as, obtain and EMT-Basic License recognized by the Arkansas Department of Health within the one year probationary period.  Prior certification desired, but not required.
The El Dorado Civil Service Commission requires that all Uniform employees live within 30 miles of the city limits of El Dorado, 90 days from completion of probationary period.  All employees are also required to pass a medical physical after initial employment.

The Department staffs three (3), 24 hours/day shifts.
Central Station houses an Engine, a Ladder, and a Shift Commander
Station #2 Houses: Engine 2 and Medic 2, as well as a reserve engine, a reserve medic unit, and the technical rescue unit.
Station #3 Houses: Engine 3, Medic 3, and a Mass Casualty Response unit
Station #4 Houses: Engine 4 , Medic 4, and a Haz-Mat response unit
El Dorado Fire Department runs both the Fire/Rescue and Emergency Medic Services for the city of El Dorado AR.
