Now Hiring: Firefighter Paramedic
The Fort Osage Fire Protection District is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter Paramedic. The Firefighter Paramedic will work as a team member in the functions of emergency medical services and fire suppression operations, in both emergency and non-emergency operations within an all-hazards response organization. Individuals hired shall be able to work as a driver/operator for both fire and ambulance type apparatus.
Responsibilities include daily support of shift operations, in relation to building, grounds, equipment, and apparatus maintenance, directing personnel in the assessment and treatment of injured people, and conducting fire inspections and community risk reduction in the areas of fire and emergency medical services prevention programs, along with other members of the organization. Work shift: 24 hours on / 48 hours off.

â€¢ Must possess and maintain a valid driverâ€™s license
â€¢ Must possess and maintain a Missouri Paramedic License
â€¢ State Certification of Firefighter 1 & 2
â€¢ State Certification of Hazardous Materials Awareness & Ops
â€¢ Must possess current CPAT certification
Fort Osage Fire Protection District provides fire, emergency medical and rescue services to approximately 14,000 citizens within the Cities of Buckner, Sibley, Levasy, Village of River Bend, and the surrounding unincorporated area of Northeast Jackson County. This progressive district serves an area of 110 square miles from two staffed stations and one volunteer station. The District has thirty (30) career employees (includes command and administrative staff) and some volunteer staff.

Starting annual salary for Firefighter Paramedic is $37,000 plus excellent benefit package and incentives as outlined within the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Fort Osage Fire Protection District and Local 3133.
