A man was seriously injured after he jumped from a window when fire broke out in the top floor of a single occupancy hotel on the Near West Side this morning, officials said.The fire broke out shortly after 8 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Royalton Hotel in the 1800 block of West Jackson Boulevard, according to the Chicago Fire Department. A man who lived on the floor suffered burns and injuries from the fall, fire officials said.

He was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, officials said.
