A man who jumped from the fourth floor of a West Side hotel to escape a blaze earlier this month has died  from his injuries, said officials.

Roy Harmon, 53, of the 1800 block of West Jackson Street, was pronounced dead at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Harmon was seriously injured after he jumped from a window after a fire broke out in the top floor of a single occupancy hotel, officials said.

The fire started about 8 a.m. on Feb. 3 in a room at the Royalton Hotel in the 1800 block of West Jackson Street where Harmon lived. He had suffered burns and injuries in the fall and was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where he later died.
