Two Chicago Police Officers Struck and Killed by Train.

It is with heavy hearts we share the news of two CPD officers killed this evening. It was reported that the two officers were investigating a shots fired call in the area when they were struck. No other details have been released as of yet, and the identities of the officers have not been released. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our brothers and sisters of the CPD, as well as the family of the two officers killed. WGN9 Chicago has the latest coverage, the article stated the following;

“CHICAGO — Two Chicago police officers were fatally struck by a train while investigating a call of shots fired on the city’s South Side.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the two District 5 officers, whose identifies have not been released, were struck by a passing NICTD-Indiana South Shore train at 103rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue on Monday evening.

Inbound and outbound trains on the Metra Electric District were stopped, according to Metra officials. The duration of the delay is unknown.
