My Fox 8 News — “The home of a family of six was destroyed by fire early Friday morning.

The call came in for a car fire and explosion on Midway Lane around 1:30 a.m., according to Thomasville Fire Battalion Chief Kevin Tolson.

Neighbors on Midway Lane told FOX 8 they were woken up by the sound of a loud explosion and their home shaking.

The homeowners and their four children all got out of the house safely.

“There was an explosion that woke my children up and them hollering woke me up I knew there was fire in the kitchen so I headed that way and when I realized I couldn’t put it out it was that bad I just told everyone to get out,” explained Eric Osborne, the homeowner.

Tolson says the family is extremely lucky to be alive. When fire crews got to the scene the house was engulfed in flames.

The home and three vehicles are a total loss. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

The fire marshal will continue the investigation into Friday morning.”
