Companies Currently Battling 5 Alarm Fire in Leetsdale, PA Chemical Warehouse

Firefighters have been working this morning to control a large fire at a chemical warehouse in Leetsdale, PA.  Below are some raw video’s showing the heavy smoke conditions.  Also included is an article on the fire that is currently still burning.

LEETSDALE (KDKA) – “Firefighters are battling a five-alarm industrial fire in Leetsdale.

According to emergency dispatchers, the fire broke out at the Weatherford Engineered Chemical company in the 100 block of Leetsdale Industrial Drive.

The company is involved in the development of oil and gas production.

Due to the unknown chemicals involved in the fire, an evacuation order has been issued for all homes on Washington Road in Leetsdale.

About 75 homes are involved in the evacuation and residents are being ushered to the Quaker Valley High School gymnasium.

Hazmat was called to the scene and officials are going door-to-door.

There is no word on injuries or how the fire started at this time. However, several ambulances were seen leaving the scene.

Thick black smoke could be seen from parts of Beaver County.”
