Firefighters Save a Kansas Woman’s World Series Tickets From House Fire: Thats Not All, George Brett Walks By and Jumps In For a Photo of The Save

A Kansas woman came home from working out early Wednesday morning and placed her purse on the table in her home.  What she didn’t plan for was having to evacuate her home due to fire.  After the woman evacuated the home and Firefighters arrived she remembered her World Series Tickets were in her purse, on the table,  in her house, that was on fire.  She frantically kept trying to go back in and Firefighters finally threatened to call the cops.  She pleaded with the Firefighters to save her purse on the table with the World Series Tickets.  They made the save and George Brett who happened to be out exercising stopped by and posed for a picture with the woman and the Firefighters.

A fire forced a Mission Hills homeowner from her house Tuesday, and she came close to getting arrested because she kept trying to run back into the house for her World Series tickets!

“I ran in and got my purse and they told me I couldn’t come back in and I remembered about the tickets,” said Maurer.

Fire Chief Tony Lopez says he was tapped to control Maurer.

“She was running in and out and my battalion chief asked me, can you do something with her?” Maurer recalls. “And they said if you go back in there, we are going to call the police. So I said, well, ok, go find, go get my tickets because my kids have just driven in from South Dakota to go to the game.”
