“Head to the Roof with Truck Crews on a recent San Bernardino Structure Fire: On August 1st crews battled a fire in a well involved single story home in the City of San Bernardino. ME224 is the “Attack Group” and reported heavy smoke and fire conditions inside, and requested vertical ventilation. Crews from MT224 & MT221 headed to the roof and completed vertical ventilation. Vertical ventilation drastically improves visibility inside and increases survivibility for civilians that may be inside as well. Truck crews continually train and operate on roofs to ensure both safety and efficiency when tasked with ventilation.
