Photos of Two Fires From Photographer Lloyd Mitchell While Buffing FDNY Fires

Photo journalist Lloyd Mitchell sent in some images that he captured from a few fires in Brooklyn the other day. Thanks Lloyd for the great photos and submittal! Below is Lloyds description of incidents and images.

“The first job was a second alarm in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at 340 S 3rd Street  The fire was reported just after 10:15 am, the fire was on the second floor of a five story multiple dwelling. Engine 216 and Ladder 108 arrived first due and transmitted a 10-75 (working fire). I was coming from southeast, Brooklyn  so wasn’t much to see. I was able to make a photograph of one of the victims..  Ladder 108 rescued two civilians from their apartment. The fire was placed under control in an hour and a half.  The two victims were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. Photos are:0110,0113 and 0115.

The second fire of the day came in just after 12:15 pm. The 44 Battalion Chief transmitted a 10-77 for a high rise fire  in a multiple dwelling. BC 44 said all hands was being put to work for a living room fire with Collier Mansions conditions at 360 Mother Gaston Blvd. The fire was put out with  2 hand lines and  five windows were broken, again I was on the wrong side of town for any fire. I was just glad to be out shooting as it has been slow for a couple of weeks. While this job was happening a fifth alarm took place, I stayed in my home area of Brooklyn though. Two jobs in one day, not a bad day at all. Photos  117, 127, 139.
