Some good pre arrival video of rear porches going good.  The video was posted by MeridenFireVideos and description is below.
“Been a while since I have caught a fire. Already out on the road, the all call went off for a reported fire in the rear of the structure at 291 Britannia Street. This address is directly next door to Engine 4’s quarters. While driving en route, a thick black header could be seen from all around. Truck 1 arrived on scene first reporting heavy fire showing from the rear, next to the parking lot of Engine 4.Â
Earlier, Engines 5, 3, 4, Truck 1 and Car 3 were on a master box alarm over on gravel street on the city’s east side. Engine 4 cleared the gravel street call master box call to take in a medical call at 61 Pomeroy Ave. which should have been Engine 5’s call but since Engine 5 was on the scene of the master box, Engine 4 took it in. Now, the master box assignment cleared shortly after and Engine 4 cleared shortly after as well. Engine 4 was heading back to quarters via I-691 when the call came in for the structure fire. Truck 1 already being on the air and in the area was first on scene. Engine 3 already on the air as well was first due and made the initial attack. Engine 4 arrived second due along with Engine 2 third due. Upon arrival of Car 3, chief called for a second alarm bringing in Engines 5 and 1. Wallingford Fire’s Engine 2 and Berlin’s Truck 9 came in on mutual aid and headed to Pratt Street for Standby along with South Meriden’s crew. No injuries were reported to any occupants and or firefighters.”
