“A Braintree home is a total loss following a fast moving fire that started shortly after 11:30pm on Monday April 13, 2015. When the first firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed with fire. A second alarm was struck immediately upon arrival due to the fire conditions. As firefighters were setting up to attack the blaze, the homes electrical service began to arc and the gas meter to the home broke off causing the fire to become gas fed. Strong wind guts also made the fire difficult to battle as it send heavy thick smoke and burning embers flying through the neighborhood. Command ordered a third alarm not long into the incident bringing assistance from as far away as Boston. Two residents of the home were able to safely evacuate the home and took shelter in a neighboring house. The Braintree Fire Department along with members of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the State Fire Marshall’s officer will be conducting the investigation into how the fire started.”
