Raw Video: 4 Alarm Apartment Fire in Meriden, CT (2) Firefighters Injured

Raw video of a 4 Alarm Fire yesterday in Meriden, Connecticut.  News media reporting two firefighters were injured at this fire.  The video was posted by MeridenFireVideos and description a long with news story is below.

“Calls came into Fire Alarm for a fire inside an apartment early afternoon on Saturday May 10th, 2015. This fire quickly spread to all until of building 11 at 525 Crown Street. This fire escalated to 4 alarms bringing in all Meriden Units and mutual aid from South Meriden, Wallingford, Berlin, Middlefield, Middletown, and Southington.”

NBC Connecticut – “Two Meriden firefighters were taken to the hospital with injuries sustained while battling a heavy fire at the Crown Village condo complex Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews responded to 525 Crown St. around noon. When they got there, they encountered heavy flames and smoke coming from building 11 of of the complex.

The fire was under control around 1 p.m. officials said.

According to the fire chief, one firefighter was transported to the hospital with heat exhaustion, another to be treated for burns. Both are expected to be ok.

No injuries to any residents of the building have been reported, but one person was reportedly trapped on a balcony, and had to jump out of a window to escape the blaze.

“I kind of tried to persuade him to jumo or like he might die, you know. So, he ended up jumping out,” says neighbor Brian Hines.”…Continue Reading Here
