“Early Saturday morning fire crews were alerted to a reported dwelling fire in the area of Ritter Street in Salisbury Township. Crews were advised while responding of multiple calls for the job and Police arrive reporting a fully involved home, command quickly struck a 2nd alarm and requested tankers do to water supply issues. Crews deployed multiple lines and put master streams inservice on a defensive operation from the start. All family remembers reportedly escaped the home uninjured and crews worked for a couple of hours to bring the fire under control……”

Norberto Garriga got out of bed, a little bit annoyed. Probably just the pellet stove, letting off a little smoke as its embers died, he thought.
The 53-year-old, who works at Olympus as a high-tech microscope training technician, walked downstairs to check the stove, and he didn’t like what he saw. Fire seemed to be shooting out the back at the exhaust. He tried briefly to put it out, but soon it was climbing up the back wall of his home.
He rushed to wake his wife, their son and daughter-in-law and two kids and get them out of the house. They dashed from the home and called 9-1-1 to report the fire. Garriga ran back in to save the family’s four dogs, getting them out as the fire spread throughout the structure.
“It’s chaos,” he said. “You are just trying to get everyone out.”
He glanced back at his new car, parked just feet from the home. He couldn’t move it because in the rush to escape the fire he hadn’t been able to find his keys. The kids’ Christmas gifts, a new X-box, tablet and laptop computer were left behind in the rush to get out.”…Continue Reading Here
