Video: Apartment Fire With a Mayday in Dover, Delaware

Video of companies in Dover, Delaware battling an apartment fire early Tues. Morning.  At approx. The 1:10 minute mark you can hear a Firefighter screaming “Mayday Firefighter Down”.  We hope for a speedy recovery for our brothers.  Below is more on the fire. – “The Dover Fire Department and other area volunteer fire companies were called at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday to a fire at the Greens at Cedar Chase apartment complex in the 1700 block of N. DuPont Highway, Dover Fire Marshal Jason Osika said at the scene.

Osika said that two residents who were forced to jump from their second-floor balconies were injured. Also injured were two firefighters. The fire marshal said all were transported to Kent General Hospital with unknown injuries.

When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen in the stairwell of the 12-unit apartment building, which according to Osika, made it impossible for residents to use. As a result, residents on the second and third floors were forced out onto their balconies where they either jumped or were aided by the Dover Police Department and other residents of the building in getting down.”…Continue Reading Here
