“INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-14-18 @ 11:00PM LOCATION: 12427 W Village Dr CITY: Harris County DETAILS: Units responded for reports of a fire inside of an abandoned Town Home Building. First arriving engine found heavy fire from the roof of the building. After assessing the building fire crews determined that this would be a defensive fire. A ladder truck was put into the air to put water on the fire. There was a lot of hidden pockets of fire making it difficult for firefighters to extinguish the fire. 4 additional fire engines were added to the response. The fire was brought under control in just under an hour. The building was abandoned at the time of the fire, there was no electricity flowing to the building at the time of the fire. HCFMO is on location investigating the cause of the fire. Crews on scene tell me this fire is definitely suspicious, but ultimately that is the decision of the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office. Crews will remain on scene for several hours mopping up hot spots from the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians during this incident.”
