Video of some Truck work in Chico, CA shows companies opening the roof at a house fire.  The video was posted by Chico Fire Department and description is below.
“On July 25th, 2016, Chico Firefighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on North Avenue. The first arriving unit reported smoke coming from a single story type 5 residential structure. As engine crews went inside to make access and extinguish the fire, firefighters from Chico Truck 1 went to the roof to cut a ventilation hole. Cutting holes helps remove heat and toxic gases from the structure. This in turn helps improve the survivability of possible trapped victims and improves visibility for interior crews as they extinguish the fire. Teamwork is crucial on the fire ground.”
