Fire Truck Falls Thru Collapsing Bridge After it Was Compromised Following a Fatal Crash

Crews from Cal Fire were responding to a vehicle crash when the bridge they were crossing collapsed.  Early reports indicate the three Firefighters were transported as a precaution.  We hope our brothers or sisters have a speedy recovery.  The bridge may have been compromised following the vehicle crash they were responding to.  More on the story below.




KRCTV.COM – “A man died early Sunday morning after a crash north of Red Bluff that compromised the structure of the Jellys Ferry Bridge. The bridge then collapsed under the weight of a CAL FIRE truck.

California Highway Patrol officers said a silver pick-up swerved off the road around 3 a.m. for an unknown reason. A man was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. A medical helicopter was called to take a second person to the hospital.

Part of the Jellys Ferry bridge collapsed under a CAL FIRE truck that was responding to the crash. Three men inside were able to get out and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.”…Continue Reading Here
